vikrant baburao Manjrekar is a sculptor trained in Sculpture and Modelling, having been awarded the G. D. Art Diploma from the prestigious Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai, in 1989. With a career spanning over three decades, the artist has established a strong presence in the Indian contemporary art scene, marked by consistent recognition from leading art institutions and cultural bodies.

The artist has been the recipient of several notable awards, including multiple Maharashtra State Art Awards (1986, 1987, 1994, 2000, and 2009), the Governor of Maharashtra’s Award for the Best Entry at The Bombay Art Society in 1996, the B. Vitthal Award from the Art Society of India in 2003, and the Rajiv Gandhi Art & Craft Award in the same year. Early recognition came with a Highly Commended Certificate at the Annual Art Exhibition of Sir J. J. School of Art in 1985.

The artist has held numerous solo exhibitions at prominent galleries across India, notably at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai, with shows spanning from 2000 to 2023, as well as exhibitions at Artist Centre Art Gallery, Mumbai, Art D’Enchante Gallery, Mumbai, and The Gallery, Chennai. Through sustained practice and exhibition, the artist continues to explore sculptural form with depth, discipline, and a strong engagement with material and concept.
