A framed portrait of a smiling, round-spectacled elder looks out from a red-bordered panel, floating above soft blue clouds that sweep across the canvas. On the left, a black crow perches on a worn clock face with red markers, a symbol of time and watchfulness. Old arched buildings and a city street appear below, painted in dark, earthy detail against bold red and white. A small white cursor adds a modern touch. The painting mixes memory, history and the present into one layered scene. A rich, thoughtful artwork for study rooms, galleries and collectors.
